Partnering for efficiency

Maersk raises the bar for its competitors.

Maersk Line aims to distinguish itself from the competition by providing its customers unmatched reliability. The so-called terminal partnering project is one way to achieve this goal. Together with pilots, mooring men and port authorities, the world’s largest shipping line makes serious work of reducing the non-productive time of their container vessels while in port. This boosts the reliability of sailing schedules and ships can consequently use slow steaming at sea, which also benefits the environment. Rotterdam has been selected for participation due to its prominent position in the sailing schedules of Maersk Line in North-west Europe and the port’s continuous efforts to improve efficiency.
