Rotterdam Container Port

Rotterdam is the main container port in Europe. With over 11 million TEU a year in containers, Rotterdam outstrips the other ports.

There are ultramodern deep-sea and short-sea facilities available and dozens of companies focus on the storage and repair of empty containers. As the port has unrestricted depth, it is accessible for all vessels and can be reached 24/7.

First waiting berth for small container ships on Maasvlakte Rotterdam

The first waiting berth for short sea and feeder vessels went into use on the Maasvlakte in February 2012.
Waiting berths form an important link in the logistics process of short sea and feeder vessels. The possibility of adding a further three waiting berths in the area in the near future is being examined. Possible locations are the Europahaven to the east of the Rhenus Terminal and at dolphins in front of the Electrabel quay.

Looking at 'Rotterdam Supply Chain', every link is equally strong: location, nautical accessibility, feeder & short sea, hinterland connections and services.
