Dedicated feeder and barge terminal
Since 2008, ECT has had a terminal operational on the Maasvlakte that specialises in the handling of feeder vessels and freight barges. This allows for a shorter handling time and limits the chance of delays.

Attractive transhipment hub
Thanks to the port’s great depth and the location of container terminals directly on the North Sea, Rotterdam is the logical choice as a first port of call in Europe for many deep-sea shipping companies. This also makes the port an attractive relay location and feeder hub. Rotterdam is the operating site for a multitude of competing feeder operators. From the port, they offer regular connections with, amongst other places, the UK, Ireland, the Iberian Peninsula and the ScanBaltic region
