How to reduce port of Rotterdam emissions

From concept to reality
Port of Rotterdam is on the cusp of developing an extensive network to capture CO2 emissions from its sprawling array of power plants, refineries and chemical plants.

The plan is to use proven gasification technology to convert biomass, refinery residues, coal and other waste streams into syngas, comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide.

Port of Rotterdam is partner of RCI. In 2010, the Rotterdam Climate Initiative continued to pursue its two main objectives: 50% CO2 emissions reduction by 2025 (as compared with the 1990 levels), and full climate change resilience for the entire region.
