Rotterdam leads in Far East - NW Europe trade

The steady growth of container volumes between the Far East and Northern Europe enables the shipping lines to start new services again. There are now 29 weekly North Europe-Far East operations (against just 23 at the start of the year).
Including Sines in Portugal they make 114 calls each week at 14 different ports on the north European side. Most frequented are Hamburg and Rotterdam, each with 26 calls, followed by Le Havre (13), Antwerp and Felixstowe (both 11). Generally, being the first a call in a rotation is a desirable position. Rotterdam with 8 scores best in this respect.
