Thessa Menssen, COO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, is to join the Executive Board of Koninklijke BAM Groep nv. She will be CFO there.
Thessa Menssen joined the Port Authority in 2006. Until 2011 she was CFO (chief financial officer), and she has been COO (chief operational officer) since January last year. On 1 September 2012 she will leave the Port Authority to start work on 1 October, after appointment by the general meeting of shareholders of BAM, at this large construction and property services enterprise that operates on an international level.
Thessa Menssen has played a steering role in the development of the Port Authority in the past six years. Increasing professionalisation and making the organisation more businesslike, amongst others on a financial level, were important priorities in this period, shortly after the Port Authority was corporatized.
The Supervisory Board of the Port Authority will start the procedure to recruit and select a new COO.
