Maritime Services
As largest port in the world for the last 40 years, Rotterdam has developed an unequalled package of facilities, hardware and services. And because port users make heavy demands on the management of and operations in the port this wide spectrum of skills and competences has long been refined and improved. The result is an environment in which port users can get exactly what they need in the shortest possible time.
Rotterdam offers the most extensive range of maritime services. Towage, pilotage, mooring, bunkering, repair and maintenance, and all services adding value to cargoes are all readily available at competitive cost.
Maritime industry
Maritime industry is strongly represented. The largest of the port’s 16 drydocks can take vessels up to 500,000 DWT. There are top facilities for the offshore market, such as berths for rig repairs and an offshore pit for platform testing. Shipyards in the area have an excellent reputation in the construction of everything from ferries and dredgers to specialty tankers and offshore rigs.
Bunkering port
Thanks to the enormous quantities handled and short lines of supply from the refineries, Rotterdam is the world’s second largest bunkering port.
