Single hull tankers
According to the European Regulation nr. 417/2002, single hull tankers of determined categories are prohibited sailing in or out of a Dutch port or offshore terminal. This Regulation is valid since September 1st, 2002.
Since October 21, 2003 an amendment of this Regulations is in force. Consequently, single hull tankers of 5000 DWT or more, carrying heavy grades of oil are also prohibited sailing in or out of a Dutch port or offshore terminal. For this category single hull tankers, anchoring in Dutch territory is also prohibited.
