Adjustments reservation and allocation procedure for Dolphins 80
Pilot Dolphins 80 - Caland Canal
The Port of Rotterdam Authority wants to optimise the use of buoys and dolphins in the port of Rotterdam. In December 2008, a pilot started at Dolphins 80 to test a new reservation and allocation procedure, the aim of which is to provide more clarity and transparency when applying for, changing and accepting reservations.
As per October 6th, 2009 the procedure will be adjusted. The most important alterations are the following:
- Removal of 240 hours period for application
- Introduction of confirmation of reservation by the applicant
- Introduction of “freeze- period” after a cancellation
Financial conditions
During the pilot, a permanent record will be kept of how the procedure works and where any modifications might be needed. Wherever relevant and possible, the procedure will also be applicable, in time, to the other berths at buoys and dolphins managed by the Port Authority.
