Container Terminals

The terminals in the Port of Rotterdam are among the most modern terminals in the world. The terminals provide rapid (automated) processing of cargo such as containers, dry bulk, liquid bulk, breakbulk and LNG. Various terminals have direct links to the deep-sea and feeder, short-sea, RoRo, road, rail and inland waterway connections.

The terminals offer various services including storage and transhipment of hazardous substances/freight, cleaning of tank containers, empty depot and links to reefer connections. The very largest container ships (19,000+ TEU) can access the terminals 24/7.

Check Navigate for an overview of the terminals and their connections and services.

Boxinsider: Container tracking made simple

Drawing on status information the application can track containers, and determine expected and actual arrival and departure times for vessels, as well as container unloading and departures at container terminals. Users are warned about any delays or disruptions.

Container Exchange Route (CER)

The Port of Rotterdam Authority is creating the Container Exchange Route (CER). The CER bundles container flows – meaning that trains, barges and feeder vessels no longer have to call on all terminals individually.
