The container port of the future:

How the Port of Rotterdam is positioning itself for the future of container shipping and provides a resilient and reliable supply chain.

The last few months have underlined the strong interdependency of world trade and container shipping. How do ports act in case of disruptions in the containerised supply chain? What is the impact on the global supply chains? Are we moving away from just-in-time supply chains and embracing just-in-case business models?
How is the port of Rotterdam positioning itself for the future?
This special edition of the Port of Rotterdam ‘Supply Chain Talks’ provides an insight into the container shipping industry of today and the necessary investments for a reliable and resilient end-to-end supply chain of tomorrow.

Port of Rotterdam CEO, Allard Castelein will open the session as keynote speaker and will share his personal view on the port of the future. His contribution will be followed by a roundtable discussion where 3 port experts will discuss actual industry developments that impact consumption, demand, supply, and available freight capacity.
