DeltaPORT Donation Fund helps Dutch Gin Museum develop audio tours

Thanks in part to a substantial financial contribution by the DeltaPORT Donation Fund, Schiedam’s Dutch Gin Museum and Windmill Museum will be able to create audio tours for tourists, which will tell the story of Schiedam’s windmills and gin-producing history. The financial injection in the Dutch Gin Museum is one of three major donations annually awarded by DeltaPORT Donations.

The Dutch Gin Museum has long wished to be able to offer audio tours. Initially, commentary will be provided in Dutch and English only. Audio tours in other languages may be created at a later stage. The audio tours will be able to be taken by means of an audio guide device that can be borrowed from the museum, or alternatively, through a special app guests can download onto their mobile phones.

DeltaPORT Donation Fund
The DeltaPORT Donation Fund was established by companies operating in the port of Rotterdam and the nearby industrial zone and by the Port of Rotterdam Authority to demonstrate their corporate social responsibility. The Fund issues donations to not-for-profit organisations active in the fields of welfare, culture, sport and leisure activities in the immediate surroundings of the Rotterdam port and industrial zone.

Through its local advisory boards, the DeltaPORT Donation Fund regularly awards small donations. Each quarter the Fund’s Board of Directors awards several donations to projects carried out in the wider port area. It also provides financial support to several larger, regional projects each year.
