As of 3 July DFDS Seaways will be increasing the capacity on the freight route between Rotterdam and Felixstowe with an additional departure in both directions.
New freight record
The extra departure on the Felixstowe route is in response to the growing customer demand and increasing volumes of cargo on the route. The shipping company has again reported a weekly record with 66,285 lane metres (approximately 4,700 units) of cargo shipped.
The extra departures will be on Fridays, leaving Rotterdam at 9am and arriving in Felixstowe at around 3.30pm, before leaving for Rotterdam again at 8pm. This means that, in total, there will now be three round trips on Fridays, as on the other days when three ro/ro ships operate on the route.
