German rail operator Boxxpress starts in Rotterdam

A new party has entered the Dutch rail freight market. Boxxpress, the traction supplier of intermodal shuttle operators ERS railways, Eurogate and TX Logistik, operated its first container train from Rotterdam to Munich on 1 July.

Boxxpress, originally active in Germany, has a wealth of experience in operating trains from Bremerhaven and Hamburg to various hinterland connections, mainly in Germany. Boxxpress transported a total of 670,000 TEU in 2018.

Boxxpress started operating from Rotterdam to Kornwestheim DUSS (3 x per week), Munich DUSS (3 x per week) and Worth Contargo (3 x per week) in July.
