Governments take the lead in support measures for private sector

National governments, EU and national central banks and international authorities have taken a variety of measures to mitigate the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dutch government and the Municipality of Rotterdam have also taken temporary measures to support companies and entrepreneurs who run into financial difficulties as a result of the outbreak. Governments are taking the lead with various generic measures, in other words. For individual companies in the port of Rotterdam that have already applied to the government for the aforementioned support but have run into difficulties bridging the interim period, the Port of Rotterdam Authority intends to offer a temporary tailored solution. The details of this support will be determined on a per-case basis.
