The rail service frequency at Kehl in Germany has been expanded. The shuttle, a collaboration between Haeger & Schmidt Logistics, Danser Group and Ultrabrag in Basel, increased in January from two to three trips per week.

“The train departs from Rotterdam eastwards on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and reaches its destination in fourteen hours”, explained Ed van de Velde, Director of Haeger & Schmidt Logistics. “We have a 92-TEU capacity per departure and visit all large terminals on Maasvlakte.”

“Cargo supply has recently increased significantly”, added Michel Bot, Sales & Marketing Manager at Danser Group. “The service increase was partly at the request of paper factory, Köhler, one of the big clients. We don’t only serve Kehl and the Black Forest area but also the French side: Strasbourg and Alsace. The cargo we transport is also extremely diverse, varying from wine, beer and cosmetics to wood and paper. We also use Kehl as a hub, as it offers our inland vessels a direct connection to the Basel region. As far as transit time is concerned, this is a fantastic addition to our barge service from Rotterdam.”
