The MoU is an important step forward in the development of shore-based power in this area, which can be used to supply sustainable power to Heerema’s fleet when the vessels are moored in the port area. The parties have set up a new consortium for this purpose and are open to welcoming new partners who wish to help accelerate the energy transition in the maritime sector.

Energy in transition

The Port of Rotterdam Authority is committed to combating climate change and wants to play a leading role in the global energy transition. The reduction of CO2 emissions and efficient use of raw and residual materials are important tasks for the Port Authority.
