Reporting of disease on board in port

14 April 2020
How can we help you?

Since recently, sea-going vessels that report via Portbase are shown the message below. The message reminds users that they are obliged to report any cases of disease on board their vessel during their stay in the port.

Reporting of disease on board in port

This reporting requirement also applies to shifting vessels and vessels leaving the port area. To report a case of disease on board a vessel in Rotterdam’s port area, please contact the Harbour Coordination Center on tel +31 (0)10 2521000.

As of 13 March 2020, all sea-going vessels are required to submit the Maritime Declaration of Health (MDoH) in a timely fashion. The MDoH needs to be sent via email to the Port Health Authority Rotterdam. This declaration has to be issued and dated no more than 24 hours before submission and needs to be sent at least 6 hours before the vessel’s arrival at the pilot station. The Harbour Coordination Center will coordinate possible follow-up steps and will request the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Municipal Health Service (GGD)’s advice regarding the reported situation.
