Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission donates 5,000 masks

In keeping with the longstanding friendship between the cities and ports of Shanghai and Rotterdam, the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission has donated 5,000 single-use facemasks to support the Netherlands in these difficult times.

Shanghai and Rotterdam have been sister ports since 2005 and can look back on many years of friendly relations and fruitful cooperation. As printed on the boxes containing the facemasks: ‘Work Together, Overcome Challenges’. We believe that by standing together, the two cities and ports can get through this challenging period. We look forward continuing our close and fruitful partnership in the months ahead.

Update corona virus

Despite the far-reaching social impact of the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), the port of Rotterdam will remain operational. Cargo handling and production will continue unabated. The Harbour Master Division is monitoring safety and public order on the water 24/7. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is carefully complying with the recommendations of national authorities in the field of health and safety, and we have taken steps to safeguard the continuity of business operations.
