On 20 and 21 February, over 150 mentors will assess 20 international port-related startup initiatives during the PortXL Selection Days. PortXL encourages port-related startups across the world. The 20 startups were selected in preliminary rounds.
Between 500 and 1,000 startups were scouted in November, December and January. Around 100 startups were contacted by Skype. That was the first selection round. The 20 startups were selected from this group of 100. On 18 and 19 February, these 20 startups will take part in team assessments and have the opportunity to practise their pitch with a pitch expert prior to the real thing on 20 and 21 February.
Access to the partner network
The mentors who will assess the 20 remaining startups work in the logistics, maritime, chemical and energy sectors. The winning 10 startups will be able to participate in the PortXL programme and will have access to PortXL’s partner network, which includes the Port of Rotterdam Authority. The winners will therefore receive the professional assistance required for the (further) realisation of their initiatives and may also receive investments.
The PortXL programme will start on 20 March. More to come.
