Update on the port
At present, the total number of port calls by sea-going vessels is not significantly lower than the average recorded during this same period last year. We have recorded a modest increase in the number of inland vessels that visit the port.
In operational terms, everything remains under control. Absence due to illness within our operational services (the Harbour Master’s division, pilots, linesmen and towage services) is at the same levels as usually recorded this time of the year.
The terminals have informed us that they are still running as usual, as have the companies in Rotterdam’s petrochemical cluster. We do see a continuation of the downward trend in throughput compared to the volumes recorded this time last year. The observed decline applies to both dry and liquid bulk, containers and roll on/roll off cargo, and to other break bulk.
