A fire-fighting system is being installed to serve the Pipeline Viaduct along the A15. The purpose of the system is to detect and manage potential fires on the Pipeline Viaduct.
Operations run from May 2017 to the beginning of 2018.
Fire-fighting and intruders
The entire length of the Pipeline Viaduct (from the Digma Johanaweg to Avelingen) will be fitted with an automatic sprinkler system. The extinguishing water will be supplied by an underground circular pipeline fed by surface reservoir. If necessary, the fire brigade will be able to take over the fire-fighting remotely using hydrants. An intruder detection system is also being installed. Lasers and cameras will prevent unauthorised persons from gaining access to the Pipeline Viaduct.
