The port for students

What do children and young people from the Rijnmond region know about the port of Rotterdam, the international port that's right around the corner? More often than not: far too little! With especially developed teaching material, primary and secondary school students get to know about the port in an educational and fun way.

Together with partners, the Port of Rotterdam Authority gets children acquainted with the port in a playful way. We try to get them interested with positive incentives and good stories. Through educational material and projects, children learn about the port and the opportunities it offers. But also secondary education is a good time to make young people aware of the opportunities in the port through educational material, since at that stage they will choose their next step which can be decisive for the rest of their careers. View the options for primary and secondary education below.

Discover the history of dykes together with the class and teach the children to calculate with Maasvlakte 2.

The Port Authority can provide information for assignments as well as teaching material on Maasvlakte 2 and the port of Rotterdam. Material is available for primary schools, intermediate preparatory vocational education, secondary education and pre-university education. It is suitable for the subjects of world studies, geography, history, economics, biology, mathematics and physics. In addition to using the teaching material in class, it is also possible to visit the FutureLand information centre on Maasvlakte 2.
