How does Pronto work?
- Pronto provides shipping companies, agents, terminals and other service providers with a shared platform that they can use to exchange information about their port calls. Users can use the Pronto dashboard or they can use their own data directly in their own systems by means of API links.
- As soon as ETA is known, the vessel is assigned its own timeline in Pronto. The timeline displays all events during the port call: from the vessel’s arrival and stay in the port to its departure from the port.
- Pronto combines public data, data retrieved directly from participating companies and forecasts from artificial intelligence applications to generate highly accurate information about a port call. Pronto does not share any information about the cargo.
- Users can easily filter the available data on their own dashboards and zoom in on the timeline of an individual port call. They can use this information to efficiently access and plan the activities related to a port call.
- The progress and status of the events is continuously updated on the dashboard. Users can monitor events and make adjustments where necessary. If they wish, users can receive alerts if there are status changes, delays or planning conflicts.
- Pronto uses the port information standards adopted by the Port Call Optimisation Taskforce.
Pronto supports Just in Time sailing
Maritime shipping emits around 1 billion tonnes of CO2 each year. Just in Time sailing will significantly reduce this. Eliminating unnecessary early arrivals at the port would enable ships to sail slower and consume less fuel. Also it reduces the anchor time near the ports which has a big impact on the emissions of carbon dioxide. Pronto can monitor the optimal sailing speed of a vessel before arrival and gives an alert when the vessel is going to reach the pilot boarding place early. Shipping lines can now find a new view in Pronto that displays the actual speed the ship sailed, what the ideal speed would have been and the potential reduction of fuel and CO2.
