The Port of Rotterdam Authority charges buoy, dolphin and quay dues for the use of buoys, dolphins and public quays in the port. The amount is calculated based on the established tariffs, the duration of the use and the length of the vessel. The dues for the use of these buoy arrays, dolphin structures and public quays are billed separately from the seaport dues.
To determine the quay dues, a rate is applied of €3.13 per linear metre of the ship (overall length) per twenty-four hour period or part thereof.
For the use of buoys in the port of Rotterdam, a rate is applied of €2.85 per linear metre of the vessel (overall length) per twenty-four hour period or part thereof. Seagoing vessels that are exclusively waiting, repairing, cleaning the ship’s cargo holds and/or engine room, including degassing the vessel and/or bunkering, only need to pay buoy dues as from fourteen days after they started using the buoy array. For all other uses, buoy dues are owed if the buoys are being used for 12 hours or longer. In that case buoy dues are charged from the start of the use of the buoys.
