5G communication

With 5G connectivity we lay a firm foundation for an innovation ecosystem.

Innovative technology plays a key role in the major transition we are currently undergoing. It helps us maximise the efficiency of the Rotterdam port. As everything that lacks efficiency also lacks sustainability. With better insights we also enable sustainable decision-making.

We see the port as a complete entity. Our approach is based on three pillars: seamless, sustainable and connected. A seamless port is defined as a port with short turnaround and berthing times for vessels, smooth procedures and a high level of customer satisfaction. Together with a number of market parties, we are developing the digital tools to support this. At the same time, these help us reduce CO2 emissions in the port and transform our facility into a sustainable port.

The transition can only succeed with the collaboration of our partners in the international chain. That is why the Port of Rotterdam Authority is building broad coalitions to work together with other ports and market parties to achieve CO2-neutral and paperless trade routes.
