How can we help you?

The port of Rotterdam is equipped for the fast, efficient and reliable handling of all types of breakbulk.

Heavy lift & project cargo

The port of Rotterdam offers extensive facilities for heavy lift and project cargo. Thanks to its strategic location and advanced infrastructure, Rotterdam serves as a key hub for project cargo. Numerous companies are not only active, but also highly specialised in the handling and warehousing of complex, heavy, and oversized products. With extensive heavy-lift crane capacity, both at terminals and via floating cranes, Rotterdam is a preferred location for project cargo.

Steel

By investing in the latest steel handling technologies, such as magnetic cranes and an all-weather terminal, we guarantee the highest possible efficiency in cargo handling. Combine this with the ability for even the most bulky ships to berth without delay at any time of day, and it is clear that the Port of Rotterdam is Europe's complete and efficient steel port.

Non-ferrous metals

Various terminals specialise in processing aluminium, copper, zinc, lead, tin, nickel and other non-ferrous metals. These transhipment terminals combine their quay activities with extensive storage options, both outside and covered. Over 130 of these storage options have been approved in accordance with the strict standards of the London Metal Exchange (LME) and Minor Metals Trade Association (MMTA).

Forest products

The throughput of forest products, such as timber, paper, wood pulp and cellulose, is in professional hands at the port of Rotterdam. The port also specialises in container transport of these and derivative products, such as packing material.
