Moving cargo to pontoons
When there is a flood threat, place consignments of cargo on pontoons so that they will be lifted up as the water level rises. That keeps goods dry and prevents damage.

Distribute the weight of the cargo evenly on the pontoons to prevent capsizing. Attach the pontoons to piles at the quayside so that they move vertically in line with the water level.
