World Hydrogen Summit coming to Ahoy in Rotterdam in March

The leading World Hydrogen Summit will take place once a year in Rotterdam from March 2022 onwards. This has been announced by the organisation behind the event. The main theme of the multi-day conference and exhibition is hydrogen. The next edition will take place from 8 to 10 March in Ahoy.

The World Hydrogen Summit is organised by the London-based Sustainable Energy Council. It organises a similar multi-day event every year in Asia, America and Europe. For the European event, Rotterdam was chosen because of the port's extensive hydrogen activities. Partners in the organisation of the World Hydrogen Summit include the Port of Rotterdam Authority, the municipality and the province of Zuid-Holland. Hydrogen plays a key role in the energy transition. It is a sustainable substitute for oil, gas and coal. In the coming years, the Port of Rotterdam will evolve to become an important production location for green hydrogen, as well as the largest import location for hydrogen in Northwest Europe.
